Ravenous Three

Hungry...

Deeptime Frontier by Matt Fitton

Although this one is a redux of Seizure, it's a redux in the way Aliens is a redux to Alien.
It by no means defuses the fantasticness of seizure, and if anything, the Ravenous feel all the more dangerous here. That's the point of this series now, we're delving into the horror area, and even if the Ravenous are stereotypical in their preying on fear, they work. They're effective. Expect to be scared.
Bring Me Knitting: Paul McGann often gives the same performance as the Doctor, so it's always a revelation when he somehow manages to strip back another layer and gives an even more unique performance. His "campfire ghost story" technique here is exceptional.
I'm Sorry About The Doctor: Liv, Helen and The Doctor have melded into the perfect unit. Rarely do I feel a TARDIS team so effective, that the Doctor can go off and do other things while Liv and Helen investigate something, either alone or together. Liv is even cooler than usual here, serving as a Doctor figure when the Doctor is incapacitated and switching back and forth when necessary.
I Could Do So Much More: Helen is excellent as well, you can hear the vulnerability and nervousness and the strength at the same time in her voice. She's petrified, but she can move forward, and rarely do I see that performed well, as most actors merely go for steely.
Overall: Why do people dislike this one? 8.5/10

Companion Piece by John Dorney

A definite experimental episode, this one focuses on what it means to be The Doctors companion, and does it admirably, with more cameos than you can shake a stick at. I'll just mention quickly that this one is definitely fun and fanservicey, yes, but it leaves a good feeling behind with it.
Bring Me Knitting: Very fun how the Doctor shows up at the last minute to save the companions, but they've all done it themselves. Point made, Mister Dorney, point made.
I'm Sorry About The Doctor: Liv the leader strikes again, and Liv proves why she's one of Big Finishes best creations, paired up with Charley Pollard, Bliss and River Song, she doesn't even blink!
I Could Do So Much More: Standard fare for Helen, but her skills are used admirably.
Charley Pollard, Edwardian Adventuress: The Joy it gives me to hear Charley after all this time is undeniable. The imagination in the ways she helps them escape is brilliant, and India Fisher still has it. This is how you do an extended cameo, strong but still yielding to the current cast.
The Drug that wiped out the entirety of new earth in that one episode Gridlock: Bliss is a bit of a blank slate, which is hardly what you need in a story like this, especially when she's up against such strong personalities. If this is, as the masses proclaim, the peak of Blisses character, I fear for when I reach the Time War range.
Spoilers, Sweetie: River Song, mother of all companions, has always had phenomenal chemistry with Liv and Helen, and her interactions with the Nine are exceptional.
Mighty Number Nine: Still Big Finishes best villain.
Overall: Maybe a bit too much fanservice, but a wild and fun ride. Very much appreciated. 9/10

L.E.G.E.N.D by Matt Fitton

It says something when the most memorable moment of the story is the Doctor and Eleven eating Gingerbread (of their own free will) directly stated (while they're eating it) that it is made out of human waste and skin. Matt Fitton should never be given standalone episodes like this, it's unimaginative, dreadful, and by leaps and bounds the worst episode Ravenous or Doom Coalition ever get. It's clear all the effort went into Deeptime Frontier. The chemistry that the Eleven has as a member of the TARDIS team with Liv and Helen is fab, but it can't save this clunker. 2/10

The Odds Against By John Dorney

This story is a bit of a damp squib, and in all honesty was entirely developed just so they could get John Heffernan and Mark Bonnar to do their twenty characters on top of eachother, in one of the at least technically most fascinating Big Finish moments, but there isn't too much meat behind it. The Nine and Eleven are still two of my favorite big Finish characters, but there isn't enough for me to analyze, even when a story like this has such fantastic moments, they're just parts of a whole. 7/10

UPDATE:
