Torchwood: Forgotten Lives

How this range is so consistently good is beyond me

Torchwood: Forgotten Lives

Forgotten Lives is the first Gwen and Rhys story in the Torchwood main range. It's bloody magnificent. It uses a unique form of recasting Jack in an old man's body, and as such it's actually a Gwen, Rhys and Jack story, and as the latter days of the show show, this team works very well. Forgotten Lives works off of this recasting element, creating some chillingly messed up moments, as well as some very emotional ones. One of very, very few audios to make me cry. The scene with Anwen especially is a gut punch, as well as Jack's final line. It's fascinating in that while most of these audios take place before the end of the series (Any audio with Ianto, Tosh, Owen or Yvonne or Queen Victoria or Suzie, like the entire cast pretty much) Forgotten Lives takes place in a post miracle day environment, furthering the story-line set up there in a weird pre season 5 bit. I really did love it quite a lot, there's something inherently special about Torchwood on audio.
Utterly gorgeous, Forgotten Lives is yet another example of magic in a bottle, worse than One Rule, but still utterly gorgeous: 9.5/10

Update: Upon a relisten I am parring this one down to a 9/10. It's still good, just less proficient than I had initially thought it to be.
